Kitty Love
Tigger

Our dear friend, Tigger, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009.

Tigger was nearly 20 years of age. Although she came to be with us later in her life, she certainly wriggled her way into our affection. Her life with Companion Book began with the position of Chief Mouser and she quickly became Director of Customer Relations. Greeting people from the counter became her delight. If staff were too busy for a cuddle, Tigger patrolled the aisles looking for customers to crawl up on.

We would like to share a few of our bookstore memories of Tigger to celebrate her life.

Tigger found a lap! This was taken in 2004 just before the store opened. She immediately made Companion Book her home and ruled with a velvet paw.

Tigger Hat's Off Day 2007 was a really busy day that left us all very happy and very tired!
'
Tigger was very fond of children. Here she supervises the Trick-or-Treaters. Halloween 2007
One of my favourite memories of Tigger is her sitting on the floor with a small child reading to her from a picture book. The boy had the book on his lap and Tigger sat beside him. They were both looking at the book and he was pointing out the pictures to her as he told the story. I do wish I had had my camera for that one!
'
We took this photo this Christmas for a sales promotion. Naturally we all agreed that Tigger had to be in the picture. (I think this is the last 'family group' picture we have with Tigger.)

Some people have asked if we will get another cat. Yes, and we can't replace Tigger, we can only hope to find a cat that can take on the serious job of Chief Mouser. Then, if he or she is a capable cat like Miss Tigg was, he might get a promotion.
